1일 젠슨 황 엔비디아 최고경영자(CEO)는 대만 타이베이 뮤직센터에서 열린 'GTC 타이베이' 기조연설에서 마이크로소프트와 협력한 차세대 윈도 AI PC 라인업 'RTX 스파크'를 공개했다. GTC 타이베이는 2일 개막하는 아시아 최대 정보기술(IT) 박람회 컴퓨텍스를 계기로 열린 부대행사다.

RTX 스파크의 핵심은 엔비디아와 대만 미디어텍이 함께 개발한 시스템온칩(SoC) 'N1X'다. N1X는 엔비디아 자체 중앙처리장치(CPU)와 블랙웰 기반 그래픽처리장치(GPU)를 하나로 묶은 AI용 칩이다. 올가을부터 대만 TSMC에서 생산돼 MS와 델, HP 등 주요 브랜드 제품에 탑재될 예정이다.

지의 PC가 사용자의 명령을 받아 앱을 실행하는 도구였다면, RTX 스파크 기반 PC는 기기 내부에서 AI 연산을 처리하며 이메일 작성, 자료 정리 등 업무를 대신 수행하는 AI 에이전트 실행 환경을 지향한다. 젠슨 황은 "앞으로의 PC는 사용자의 의도를 이해하고 스스로 도구를 다루는 AI 에이전트의 실행 환경이 돼야 한다"고 말했다.
이번 발표는 엔비디아가 데이터센터용 AI 반도체를 넘어 개인용 PC 시장까지 영향력을 넓히겠다는 신호로 해석된다. 그간 PC 프로세서 시장은 인텔과 AMD가 주도했고, 최근에는 퀄컴이 Arm 기반 '스냅드래곤 X' 시리즈로 도전장을 내민 상황이다. 여기에 GPU와 쿠다(CUDA) 생태계를 앞세운 엔비디아가 가세하면서 고성능 AI PC 시장 경쟁이 한층 격화할 것으로 보인다. 다만 윈도 Arm 환경에서 기존 소프트웨어가 얼마나 안정적으로 작동할지, 배터리 효율과 발열, 가격 경쟁력이 시장 기대에 부합할지는 실제 제품 출시 이후 검증될 전망이다.
